Program Details

Eastern Maine Community College’s Oil Burner Technician course jumpstarts your career in the heating industry. The course is for students with limited knowledge or experience in the heating industry. Students learn the basics of installing, cleaning, and servicing oil burners and oil-burning equipment. This 160-hour course qualifies you to take the State of Maine Journeyman Oil Burner Technician License Examination.

Through Maine Jobs & Recovery Plan, EMCC will offer this program to a limited number of qualified individuals at no cost to the students. The costs associated with the following, will be waived for individuals who qualify for the program:

  • Tuition
  • Fees
  • Textbooks
  • Criminal background checks
  • One certification exam
