Propane & Natural Gas Technician

Program Details

This 4-month program introduces propane and natural gas heating systems using EMCC developed curriculum. The curriculum focuses on residential/light commercial heating systems and will provide technical training with lab components. Lab time includes working with related gas equipment, appliances, controls and basic electricity.

Approved by the Maine Fuel Board, upon completion of the course the student will meet the requirements to sit for the State of Maine Gas License with the Appliance Connection and Service Technician State exam.

Starting salary range: $36,000 – $63,000


Application Requirements

  • 18 years of age by the start of the course
  • Maine state resident
  • Copy of high school transcript or equivalent completion certificate (GED or HiSET)
